Former Premier League striker Adam Le Fondre is reported to be in advance talk with Hyderabad FC. The Bridge has reported that the 33-year-old is mulling over a move to Indian Super League from Sydney FC despite having a contract running till 2021.

Valued at ₹66.66M, Adam Le Fondre is way above the top players of ISL in terms of Market Value. But with Covid-19 plunging the A-League clubs into severe financial crisis, clubs are finding it difficult to retain players. Sydney FC chief executive Danny Townsend had admitted the issue. “It was a bit of a badge of honour for the club to have such stability going into next season but now it could become a problem for us,” he told ESPN (via The Bridge).

Considering the situation, the ISL seems to have become a favoured destination for A-League players. On Monday, Hyderabad FC were reported to have finalised a deal with another A-League player Joel Chianese while several others are also linked to other clubs of ISL. Rumours have it that Adam Le Fondre is wanted by as many as five clubs in India but Hyderabad FC is the closest to sign the deal.

Le Fondre is someone who has played around 500 matches for 13 years in England's league system with proven goal-scoring ability. That makes the 33-year-old forward a good signing for any ISL club. Over the last two years in the A-League, the former Reading FC striker has scored 35 goals in 49 matches.
